Thunder Late Rush Falls Short in Loss to Rock Cats

(Trenton, NJ) – Despite scoring six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Trenton Thunder (64-66) fell to the New Britain Rock Cats (66-65) 11-8 on Friday night in front of 6,101 at Waterfront Park.  The Rock Cats scored five runs to erase an early Trenton lead, then tacked on two in the ninth after the Thunder surged from behind to cut the lead to just one.  Dropping the first game of a four-game set with New Britain, the Thunder fall to 1.5 games behind the Rock Cats and 2.5 games back of the Reading Phillies and the Eastern League Eastern Division’s Wild Card spot.
