Game 128: Trenton Thunder (64-63) @ New Hampshire Fisher Cats (69-59)


Continuing our promotion preview theme, the first 1,000 kids (ages 5-15) to Waterfront Park on Tuesday, August 30, will receive 2010 Eastern League MVP Brandon Laird Mini Bats, courtesy of Macy's. The Thunder take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats that night.

Today’s Game Notes

Winners of four of five games after starting the month of August 3-11, the Thunder have a chance to win their first series since sweeping the Aeros in Akron from July 25-57 on Tuesday night in Manchester, NH.  The Thunder, who have won seven straight over New Hampshire, also have a chance to clinch the season series with a win as well.

RHP Craig Heyer gets the ball from Tony Franklin for his 22nd start of the season and his third of the season against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.  In two Waterfront Park starts and a relief appearance on Opening Day in Manchester, the righty from Scottsdale, AZ is 3-0 with a 2.20 ERA.  Heyer last worked on Thursday night in Erie, hurling a career high eight innings of two-run ball in a win over the SeaWolves.

RHP Nestor Molina will make his third career AA start on Tuesday night, taking on the Thunder for the first time.  The 22-year-old Venezuelan was called up from Dunedin on August 12 and is 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA in two outings.  Most recently, the righty received a no decision on Thursday in Altoona, surrendering just two hits in five frames.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: A night after playing a 2:11 game, the Thunder and the Fisher Cats will take at least 2:30 to finish Tuesday’s contest.  Season Stats: .454 batting average (54-119, hit streak: -3)
