After battling three rain delays that totaled north of two hours and thirty minutes, the Thunder and the Bowie Baysox game was cancelled on Sunday night at Waterfront Park. Bowie held a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning, and there is currently no make-up date scheduled. On Monday night in New Hampshire, the Thunder kick-start a 15-game stretch with games only against the Fisher Cats and the New Britain Rock Cats to finish the 2011 campaign.
RHP Cory Arbiso starts for the Thunder on Monday night as the team starts a crucial three-game set in New Hampshire. As a starter this season, the righty from La Mirada, CA is 0-2 with a 7.11 ERA. Arbiso most recently started on Tuesday night in Erie. In five innings, he allowed four runs and received the loss as the Thunder were swept in the doubleheader. Arbiso is a career 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA in eight games (one start) against the Fisher Cats.
RHP Chad Jenkins will start for the fourteenth time this season for New Hampshire and for the second career time against the Thunder. The righty started opposite Phil Hughes in June at Waterfront Park and received a loss despite not pitching poorly. In the outing, Jenkins allowed three runs on ten hits in seven innings. Last time out, the 20th overall pick in the 2009 Draft allowed five runs in six innings to receive a loss in Altoona.
