Saturday’s doubleheader split sets up a rubber match between the Bowie Baysox and the Trenton Thunder on Sunday evening at Waterfront Park. The Baysox have already clinched the season series with the Thunder, who enter play on Sunday one game back of the Reading Phillies and the Eastern Division’s Wild Card spot.
LHP Shaeffer Hall gets the ball from Tony Franklin for his team-leading 23rd start of the season. The lefty from the Kansas City suburbs has lost three straight starts, allowing 11 earned runs in 15.0 IP (6.60 ERA). Hall is tied with Craig Heyer for the team lead in wins with ten. Hall picked up the win over the Baysox on July 24 at Prince George’s Stadium, allowing four runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings.
RHP Tim Bascom starts for the fifteenth time this season on Sunday night at Waterfront Park, coming off a loss last Sunday at home to New Britain. Bascom started on July 23 against the Thunder in Bowie, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings in a no decision. The righty was selected in the fourth round of the 2007 Draft by the Orioles out of the University of Central Florida.
