Game 124: Trenton Thunder (61-62) @ Erie SeaWolves (59-64)

The Thunder will play their final game in Erie, PA in 2011 tonight and will say goodbye to one thing that Erie is known for...their gorgeous sunsets.

Today’s Game Notes

After making up 1.5 games in the Eastern League Eastern Division last night at The Uht, the Thunder enter Thursday’s series finale in Erie with a chance to win consecutive games for the first time since July 26-27.  A win would also salvage a series split in this four-game set with the AA Affiliates of the Detroit Tigers and clinch the season series five games to four.

RHP Craig Heyer will make his 21st start of the season tonight and his first career start against the Erie SeaWolves.  Heyer is coming off a solid outing on Saturday night in Harrisburg, hurling 6.1 innings without giving up an earned run in a win.  After losing three straight starts in July, Heyer is 2-0 with a 2.04 Era in his last four outings (three starts).  The righty’s 3.72 ERA has him among the top 10 of the lowest ERA’s in the entire New York Yankees Minor League system.

RHP Brooks Brown will make his fourteenth start of the season for the Erie SeaWolves and his first start of the season against the Thunder.  Brown lost his last time out, allowing seven runs on ten hits in four innings on Saturday in Portland, Maine.  The Georgia-native was named the 2010 Erie Pitcher of the Year and was a former farmhand of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank:  Craig Heyer will record a double play tonight.  Season Stats: .466 batting average (54-116, hit streak: +1)
