Game 123: Trenton Thunder (60-62) @ Erie SeaWolves (59-63)

Today’s Game Notes

After getting swept in yesterday’s doubleheader, the Thunder need to win the next two nights to salvage a series split in these four games at Jerry Uht Park with the Erie SeaWolves.  The losses last night dropped Trenton out of a tie for with Reading for the Wild Card spot in the Eastern Division and into a tie for third with New Britain.

LHP Steve Garrison will start for the fourteenth time this season for Thunder, getting the ball for game three of this four-game set in Erie.  Garrison hasn’t won since July 15 and has gone 0-2 with a 7.62 ERA in his last three starts.  His last start, on Thursday in Trenton against Binghamton, Garrison allowed five runs on 11 hits in five frames to receive a no decision in an 8-5 Thunder win.

RHP L.J. Gagnier will make his fifteenth start of the season tonight for the SeaWolves.  Gagnier won his last time out, hurling 5.2 innings of one-run ball in a win on Friday in Portland.  The righty has made one start this season against the Thunder, hurling seven innings in a no decision on May 19 in Erie.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank:  The Thunder will hit a homerun tonight.  Season Stats: .461 batting average (53-115, hit streak: -1)
