Thanks to Bryce Harper, the Thunder are out to a slow start on an important, and likely decisive, seven-game road trip in the Emerald State. The Senators’ left fielder’s walk-off homerun dramatically sent Trenton to a 3-2 loss on Friday night at Metro Bank Park. Already 0-4, the Thunder will look for their first win of the season in Harrisburg on Saturday night. After the three-game set with the Sens, Trenton will head west to take on Erie for four games.
RHP Craig Heyer will get the nod for his twentieth start of the season for Trenton tonight. The righty has faced the Senators three times already this season, receiving two losses and a no decision against the Western Division’s first place team. Heyer last worked on Saturday in Altoona, picking up a no decision in 5.0 innings in a 5-3 Thunder win.
LHP Oliver Perez will make his twelfth start of the season for the Senators tonight and his first start of the season against the Thunder. The former Major League lefty last worked on Sunday in Erie, picking-up a win when he allowed one run on four hits in 6.2 innings. A career 58-69 with a 4.63 ERA with the Padres, Pirates and Mets, Perez was signed to a Minor League deal by the Nationals in March.
