Coming off a win on Thursday night to break a six-game home losing streak and avoid being swept by the Binghamton Mets, the Thunder will begin a seven-game road trip with the first of three games in Harrisburg on Friday evening. Entering play in a tie for the Wild Card spot in the Eastern Division, Trenton takes on a Senators’ team that have consistently been at the top of the Western Division for all of 2011. This is the second of two trips to Metro Bank Park this season. The Thunder were swept in Harrisburg in three games in late April.
RHP Dellin Betances will make his 21st start of the season for the Thunder tonight. The last time the righty worked, on Sunday evening in Altoona, he allowed two runs on six hits in five innings in a no decision. On June 15 at Waterfront Park, the Brooklyn-native received his first loss of the season when he allowed two runs (one earned) on just three hits in five innings in his only start against Harrisburg in 2011.
LHP Danny Rosenbaum will make his second career Double A start tonight for the Senators. Going 6-5 with a 2.59 ERA in 20 games with Advanced A Potomac this year, the former Xavier Musketeer won his Senators’ debut on Saturday when he gave up four runs (one earned) on three hits in 5.2 innings in Erie.
