(Trenton, NJ) – The Trenton Thunder (58-57) scored the game’s final four runs but fell to the Binghamton Mets (48-68) 6-5 on Tuesday night at Waterfront Park. In game one of a three-game series, Rob Lyerly’s eighth inning, three-run homerun kick-started a late comeback for the Thunder that fell eventually fell short. Trenton loses for the sixth time in seven games in August and will need to win the final two games of this series to avoid the team’s fifth series loss in seven series in the second half of the Eastern League season.
