Opening a three-game series with the Binghamton Mets tonight at Waterfront Park, the Trenton Thunder look to bounce-back after a series loss over the weekend in Altoona. Normally stellar at Waterfront Park, the Thunder have lost back-to-back home series and have only won one series in Trenton since the beginning of July. This three-game series marks the last meeting between the Thunder and the Binghamton Mets in the 2011 season.
RHP Graham Stoneburner makes his sixth start of the season for the Thunder on Tuesday night and his third straight since an injury forced him into a three-month absence from the Thunder rotation. Stoneburner was strong again his last time out, last Wednesday against Akron at Waterfront Park. In the outing, the righty from Clemson faced the minimum in six of seven frames, allowing two runs on six hits in a no decision. Stoneburner has never faced the Binghamton Mets in his career.
RHP Collin McHugh will make his twelfth start of the season for the B-Mets and his third career appearance against the Thunder. The righty and Covington, GA-native worked in consecutive outings against Trenton on 6/11 and 6/17, picking up a no decision in a start at Waterfront Park and a four-inning save at NYSEG Stadium, respectively. McHugh last worked on Friday at home against Reading, hurling three innings of scoreless, two-hit baseball to pick-up his second save of the season.
