The Trenton Thunder find themselves in the midst of a heated playoff race as the team kicks-off the final full month of the season tonight with the first game of a three-game set with the Akron Aeros ,a team the Thunder swept in Ohio just last week. Despite losing three of four games to the Richmond Flying Squirrels this past weekend, the Thunder still have a one-game lead on the Eastern Division’s Wild Card spot. After this three-game set with the AA Affiliates of the Cleveland Indians, the Thunder head to Altoona for a brief three-game set before returning home.

RHP Austin Adams will make his team-leading twenty-first start of the season and his second start of the season tonight for the Aeros. The Millbrook, AL native won on May 8 against the Thunder, surrendering three runs (one earned) in six innings. The righty has won his last two starts, including a win on Thursday against Erie when he gave up four runs on nine hits in six frames.
