Game 103: Trenton Thunder (54-48) @ Akron Aeros (54-49)

Trenton native Steve Garrison delivers his first career Major League pitch last night in the Bronx.

Today’s Game Notes

After not winning a road game in a stretch from June 26 to July 24, the Thunder have now won two straight road contests.  On Tuesday night from Canal Park in Akron, the Thunder now have a chance to win a road series for the first time since taking two of three from New Britain in late June.  Trenton can also complete the seven-game road trip with a winning record by taking the next two games from the Aeroes.

RHP Craig Heyer will make his eighteenth start of the season tonight and his second career start against the Akron Aeros.  Coming off back-to-back outings where he has given up seven runs, Heyer is 0-3 with a 6.56 ERA in the month of July.

LHP T.J. McFarland also makes his eighteenth start of the season for the Aeros tonight and his first start of the season against the Thunder.  The lefty and former fourth round selection by the Indians in 2007 has not lost a game since May 31, faring 6-0 with a 2.57 ERA during that stretch.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank:  Austin Romine will drive in a run tonight.  Season Stats: 42 wins, 54 losses (streak: L1)
