Game 100: Trenton Thunder (52-47) @ Bowie Baysox (54-43)

Cesar Izturis (far right, 3#), who rehabbed in Bowie on Saturday, is seen here participating for his native Venezuela in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

It was the same old story for the Thunder on Saturday night in Bowie…another loss on the road.  Despite losing ten straight road games (no road wins in July) and faring 5-15 in the month of July, the Thunder still find themselves in a tie for the Eastern Division’s Wild Card playoff spot.  After these final two games in Bowie, the Thudner trek to Akron for a three-game set in northeastern Ohio.

RHP Dellin Betances will look to stop the bleeding on the road for the Thunder on another hot and muggy night in Bowie.  The Yankees’ top pitching prospect last worked on Monday when he received a loss in five innings against Erie at home.  The 2011 Eastern League All Star and Brooklyn native is 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA in the month of July and will face Bowie for the first time in his career tonight.

RHP Tim Bascom gets the nod for the Baysox tonight, looking to continue his recent hot streak.  The righty has won in each of his last three outings and since moving to the Baysox starting rotation on June 19, he’s fared 4-0 with a 2.03 ERA.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank:  Dellin Betances will pitch more than five innings tonight.  Season Stats: 41 wins, 52 losses (streak: W3)
