Almonte’s Walk-Off Single Caps Dramatic Slugfest

(Trenton, NJ) – In a 3:44 minute, nine-inning affair on Wednesday afternoon, the Trenton Thunder (52-45) scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 13-12 over the Erie SeaWolves (46-51). In the finale of the three-game series and a seven-game homestand, Zoilo Almonte singled to score Rob Lyerly in the ninth to give Trenton a series win over Erie. The Thunder committed a season-high five errors a surrendered a season-high 18 hits, but a season-high thirteen runs of their own was just enough to win for just the fifth time in 18 games in July.


Thirty-two base hits

Three and a half plus hours

Win number five-two


Eighteen hits allowed

And five errors committed
