Hughes His Old Self, Thunder Sweep Fisher Cats

(Trenton, NJ) – In a rehab start for the Trenton Thunder (46-32) on Wednesday afternoon at Waterfront Park, Phil Hughes dominated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (46-30) for six-plus innings, leading the Thunder to a 3-2 win over the Fisher Cats to complete the three-game sweep. Rob Lyerly hit his first Double-A home run and Ray Kruml tripled for the fourth straight game to pace the Thunder at the plate. Hughes, in his second rehab start with the Thunder in five days, only allowed three hits and one run as the Thunder won for the 28th time in 39 home games in 2011.
