Today’s Game Notes

After the season’s largest offense production in the middle game of this three-game set on Saturday, the Thunder have a chance to win a series for the first time on this final game of the season’s longest road trip (nine games). Trenton is 3-5 on the trip and will look to win back-to-back games on Sunday for the first time since June 10-11. This series is the first of three between the two teams in 2011, two of which will be in Connecticut and one in New Jersey. Trenton will open a seven-game homestand on Monday with the beginning of a three-game set with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

RHP Dellin Betances will look to avoid losing his third straight start on Sunday as toes the rubber for the 13th time in 2011. This is the second career start for the righty from Brooklyn against the Rock Cats. Betances hurled four innings of three-run ball last September 3 in New Britain and received a no decision. Betances, regarded as the Yankees top-ranked pitching prospect, couldn’t make it out of the third inning on Tuesday in Portland, allowing six earned runs.

RHP Deinys Suarez will make his fourth start for the Rock Cats in 2011 after a win, a loss and a no decision through his first three. Eight days ago, the Cuban righty hurled six shutout innings on just four hits in a win on the road in Reading.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: Dellin Betances will bounce-back from a rough last outing and allow three runs or less today. Season Stats: 28 wins, 41 losses (streak: L1)
