Game 74: Trenton Thunder (41-32) @ New Britain Rock Cats (39-30)

Phil Hughes answers questions from the media following Friday night's rehab start with the Thunder. Do you think anyone asked him about his velocity? (Cavaliere)

Today’s Game Notes

Losers of five of seven games on this season-long, nine-game road trip, Trenton will look to bounce-back from a tough loss to the Rock Cats last night in game one of the three-game series. This series is the first of three between the two teams in 2011, two of which will be in Connecticut and one in New Jersey. The Thunder need to win the final two games of this series to avoid losing another road series (3-6-2).

LHP Steve Garrison will come off of the Disabled List and start for the Thunder tonight after missing seven-plus weeks due to a groind injury. The injury forced him to leave a start on May 3 in Trenton against the Portland Sea Dogs. The Thunder’s Opening Day starter in 2011, Garrison has yet to win game in six starts this season.

RHP Brett Jacobson will make his eighth career Double A start after being named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week last week. The righty from Vanderbilt last worked on June 17 when he hurled a complete game shutout in Reading (9.0 IP, 3 H, 8 K, 1 BB).

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: The Thunder will not make an error tonight. Season Stats: 28 wins, 40 losses (streak: W1)
