Game 71: Trenton Thunder (40-30) @ Portland Sea Dogs (24-43)

Providing a unique backdrop down the right field line at Hadlock Field is the Portland Exposition Center. While the Maine Monster gets the majority of the attention, the Trenton Makes Blog thinks this is a very underrated aspect of this park.

Today’s Game Notes

Having lost six of eight games, the Thunder take on the Portland Sea Dogs on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field in the middle game of the three-game set. After Wednesday night’s game is completed, the Thunder will reach the halfway mark of the 2011 season (71 games). Currently on their longest road swing of the season, the Thunder lost two of three in Binghamton, take-on the Sea Dogs for three games, then head to New Britain for a three-game weekend set.

RHP Alan Horne will come off of the Disabled List to make his 2011 season debut for the Thunder. Battling injuries, the former Florida Gator has not seen action since 2009. The righty was 12-4 with a 3.11 ERA in 2007 for the Thunder, leading the team to its first of back-to-back Eastern League titles.

RHP Alex Wilson makes his team-leading fourteenth start of the season for the Sea Dogs tonight at Hadlock Field. The righty is 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA in four starts against the Thunder in 2011.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: A night after allowing 13 runs, Thunder pitcher’s will allow less than five runs tonight. Season Stats: 27 wins, 38 losses (streak: W3)
