Today’s Game Notes

After losing back-to-back games at home for the first time in 2011, the Thunder begin the season’s longest road swing with game one of a three-game set in Binghamton on Friday night. Trenton will play in the Southern Tier for the first and only time this season. The Thunder have gone 5-2 against the B-Mets in the seven games the two teams will play at Waterfront Park in 2011.

LHP Manny Banuelos will make his 13th start of 2011 Friday night after receiving a no decision against the B-Mets last Saturday at Waterfront Park. The Durango, Mexico, native, regarded as the top left-handed pitching prospect in the Yankees’ system, is 1-0 with a 3.42 ERA in away games so far in 2011.

LHP Robert Carson will make his first start since May 31 tonight as he gets the ball for the B-Mets in game one of this three-game set. After starting the year 1-1 with a 0.90 ERA, the Hattiesburg, Mississippi, native is 0-6 with a 4.81 ERA. Carson received a no decision in his only start against Trenton this year, hurling seven innings of two-run ball on May 14 at Waterfront Park.
