Game 63: Binghamton Mets (19-41) @ Trenton Thunder (38-24)

Today’s Game Notes

The Thunder edged the Binghamton Mets last night in the middle game of a three-game set from Waterfront Park to grab their eighth series victory of ten at home in 2011 (8-1-1). Sunday will feature the Thunder going for their fourth series sweep at home this season and second already in the month of June. After this Sunday matinee finale, the Thunder will have an off day on Monday and then welcome the first place Harrisburg Senators to town for three games

RHP Cory Arbiso will make the spot start for the Thunder, looking to lead his team to the three-game sweep over the B-Mets. In two starts this year, the former Cal State-Fullerton Titan is 0-1 with a 15.43 ERA (8 ER/4.2 IP). As a reliever Arbiso is 4-2 with a 4.08 ERA. The righty last worked in the starting role on May 28 in the second game of a doubleheader in Portland, ME.

RHP Jeurys Familia gets the nod from Wally Backman to make his seventh start of 2011 and second start against the Thunder at Waterfront Park. The Dominican righty received a no decision on May 15 in a dominating seven shutout innings (3 H). Familia last worked Tuesday when he hurled five innings of three-run ball in a no decision at home against Harrisburg.

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: Thunder catcher Ryan Baker will get his first hit of 2011 today. Season Stats: 21 wins, 36 losses (streak: L3)
