Game 32: Reading Phillies (19-11) @ Trenton Thunder (16-15)

Tuesday night is Trenton Thunder/ Reading Phillies Reversible Bucket Hat Giveaway thanks to Deborah Heart & Lung.

In game two of a three-game set with the first place Reading Phillies, the Thunder have an opportunity to pick-up their fourth series win in this young 2011 campaign. So far this year, Trenton is 3-0-1 in home series, including three straight series wins at Waterfront Park.

Tonight’s pitching match-up features two highly-touted prospects who are looking to bounce-back after struggling through their last outings. LHP Manny Banuelos (0-0, 2.57) will make his fifth start of 2011 for Trenton. The top Yankees left-handed prospect gave-up three runs on eight hits (tied career high) and four walks (career high). RHP J.C. Ramirez (4-1, 1.86), recently named the Phillies’ top Minor League pitcher in the month of April, will make his sixth start of the year. The 22-year-old Nicaraguan started 2011 4-0 but took the loss his last time out on May 4 when he only lasted 2.2 innings and gave up six runs (three earned).

The Bank of Princeton’s Hank’s Take it to the Bank: Thunder pitchers will record at least two 1-2-3 innings in tonight’s contest with Reading. Season stats: 8 wins, 19 losses
